August 2026 Compliance Calendar: 7 Dates Every Business Owner Should Track

August 2026 Compliance Calendar:

Running a business means handling many responsibilities at once, and compliance is often the one that gets pushed aside until a deadline is missed and a penalty notice arrives.

At SCORE, we build a monthly compliance calendar for exactly this reason. It lets our clients spend less time tracking due dates and more time running their business. Here is what is on the calendar for August 2026, and why each date matters.

The August 2026 Lineup

August 7: TDS Deposit (for July) Tax deducted at source for the previous month is due. This deadline is easy to forget because it relates to last month’s payroll and vendor payments, not this month’s. A missed TDS deposit attracts interest and can delay your ability to file TDS returns later in the quarter.

August 10: GSTR-7 / GSTR-8 Businesses required to deduct or collect tax at source under GST, including e-commerce operators and certain government-linked entities, must file these returns. Late filing results in daily late fees that add up quickly.

August 13: GSTR-6 (Input Service Distributor) If your business operates as an Input Service Distributor, distributing input tax credit across multiple branches or units, this is your monthly checkpoint. A late or incorrect filing delays credit claims for every branch connected to it.

August 15: Advance Tax Installment and PF/ESI Deposit Two obligations fall on this date. Advance tax keeps you ahead of your annual tax liability instead of facing a lump sum in March. PF and ESI deposits affect your employees directly, and delays here risk penalties as well as employee trust.

August 20: GSTR-3B This is the monthly summary return where most businesses declare their sales, purchases, and tax liability. It is one of the most closely watched GST deadlines each month.

August 25: GST Compliance (QRMP payment) Businesses under the Quarterly Return Monthly Payment scheme still owe a monthly tax payment even though their return filing remains quarterly. This date is easy to miss if you are thinking in quarterly terms.

August 30: ROC Annual Filings Companies completing their Registrar of Companies obligations for the year should note this date. Compliance is not only about monthly GST and TDS deadlines. Annual filings move at a slower pace but carry the same consequences if missed.

Why a Calendar Like This Matters

None of these deadlines are complicated on their own. What makes compliance difficult is keeping track of the timing, especially when a business is juggling monthly, quarterly, and annual filing cycles across different regulators at once.

A compliance calendar solves this by converting scattered knowledge into a clear, dated reference. It replaces guesswork with certainty about what is due and when, which reduces both stress and risk.
